Subject: Welcome Home... Sun Jun 05, 2011 9:24 am

Gabriella climbed out of the cab, after the 2 hour flight & 1 hour drive from the airport. The past 2 years had gone quite quickly, if she actually thought about it. As she got out of the taxi, she looked up at the massive all boys’ boarding school. It looked exactly the same as it had two years ago, nothing had changed. Well, apart from the grass getting a little longer & the tree’s getting a little taller. That was literally it, even the same old smell of pine & greenery drifted through the air. She wasn’t surprised at all; her father never had liked change.

Her heels hit the gravel path hard, creating a sharp noise against the stones. Not that she cared, she was home. Well, sort of anyway. She grabbed her bag & paid the cab driver, giving him a bit more money for a tip. Her mind drifted to when she was a child & she used to run around the long grass, playing & hiding. Those where happier times, before her father became so uptight. Gabrielle watched as the cab drove away, before she turned back & began to walk up the stairs before opening the large oak doors that used to frighten her as a child.

She noticed some boys wandering the halls; they stared at her before going into one of the larger rooms. The brunette dropped her bag on the stairs, she was sure no one would take it. Gabriella decided she probably needed a walk before she faced her father, so she followed slowly behind them. Hoping they wouldn’t notice she was there, she leant against the door frame. Noticing more boys, all dressed in the same navy & red blazers.

Blaine glanced up absentmindedly when more Warblers entered the room. He saw a girl standing in the doorway--actually, everybody saw her. She wasn't hard to miss, it was an all-boys school. Blaine immediately recognised her even though he hadn't been at Dalton before she left. Gabrielle Dalton. Blaine smiled and pushed off the arm of the ancient couch and walked across the room to the door. He leaned against the other side of the doorframe, smiling in a friendly manner. "Hey, I'm Blaine. You must be.. Gabrielle Dalton, right?" He introduced, still smiling. There was rarely a time anymore when you could find Blaine not smiling. Since his transfer, a smile had been his default expression.

Gabrielle realized too late that she’d probably be obviously spotted; after all it was an all boy’s school. She put on a smile anyway, when the person called Blaine introduced himself, it was a bit weird that he knew who she was but she didn’t say anything apart from a casual reply. “Yeah, but call me Gabriella.” She replied, in her sweet voice. “It’s nice to meet you.” She added, after all reform school had taught her some things. Though, she wouldn’t be this nice around her father... any way that was ever going to happen. He had been the one that sent her to that hell hole, why should she be polite?

"Right, sorry." Blaine smiled when she corrected him. He buried his hands in the slacks of his uniform and inclined his head toward the choir room. "Would you like to stay and watch for a while?" He offered politely, after all, she was the founder of the school's daughter. Though, even if she wasn't, Blaine would be kind anyway. That's the kind of person he is.

Gabriella thought about this for a second, be in a room full of strangers or go see her father? No competition. "I'd love to." The brunette replied, smiling. She had nothing to lose, though she was only doing it to get away from Richard. Blaine seemed nice though, so why not? She stood up a little striaghter & stepped into the room, leaning against the wall now. Some of the boys were still looking at her, but she ignored it. After all, what was she expecting from an all boys academy.

Blaine rolled his eyes slightly as Wes hit the gavel against the wooden block on the table beside it. Most of the Warblers knew that Wes was obsessed with his gavel. The others had most likely been hit with the gavel. Blaine turned to close the wooden doors before resuming his place next to Kurt on one of the couches. Today was a meeting, a proper one, one not started with a performance from Blaine and the Pips. They needed a setlist. But, surprisingly, that is not what left Wes' mouth. "Fellow Council and Junior Warblers, I would like to introduce Gabrielle Dalton." Blaine couldn't figure out if Wes had said that so people would know who she was and therefore stop static or whether he'd said it because he likes her. The junior Warbler guessed a bit of both, knowing Wes.

Gabrielle smiled as she was introduced, though she was secretly a little creeped out. How come everyone knew who she was, and yet she knew no-one? That question didnt stay in her head for long, but she was still a tad curious. Letting the thought escape her mind, she just said a quick "Hey". Not really knowing what to, or not to say because she was kind of intruding on whatever they were doing.

Blaine laughed softly to himself at Wes' blatant introduction. "Gabriella, we're the Warblers." He explained softly with a small smile. "This is our kind of.. glee club meeting." He added.

The brunette knew what a glee club was, of course she did. It had been her dream to be part of one when she was like five years old, though her father would've never aloud it. Everyone expected her to do business & economics, not music. Richard used to say things like 'You can't live on a musicains salary.' or 'Your mother would have been so dissapointed' whenever Gabriella brought up the subject. He could never cut her off from the world of music though, she wouldn't allow him to. Even now she was 16, music was still her asperation. "Cool." She replied, coming back to the real world after her trip down memory lane.

Wes didn't seem happy about being interrupted and hit the gavel once more, calling the room to order. Blaine turned back to face him, catching a glimpse of Kurt's seemingly disinterested expression. Blaine knew that it was just because he hadn't heard or learned about the Dalton family yet, therefore Gabriella was just a regular girl, to him. Not the headmaster's daughter.

"Now, our second order of business is rehearsal for Regionals." Wes spoke again. "We can't get complacent, guys. New Directions were awesome at Sectionals and Aural Intensity got to their Regional last year." David added. Wes nodded once and got to his feet along with the other council members, who all spread out in various places around the room. The Warblers began harmonising and Blaine also got to his feet, straightening his blazer a little before he started to sing.

The Dalton girl smiled as they began to sing, one thing she'd missed most at reform school. The music. Literally, the school only played some 'focusing' shit. It was the same tune, repeated over & over. She was suprised that one day she hadn't killed those speakers in every classroom. It just annoyed the hell out of her, how that was meant to help her focus she didnt know.

That Blaine guy was good, she knew that much. He was really good. They all where. She could see why they'd picked him to be the lead though.

Blaine began prancing around the room until he found himself back at the couch Kurt was sitting on. Without thinking, Blaine leapt so he was walking along the back of the couch as he sang.
"Drive it all day and don't fill up the tank"
Blaine hopped off of the couch and landed so he was once again facing Kurt. He began dancing around the room again, interacting with each Warbler.
"And you have the audacity
To even come and step to me
Ask to hold some money for me
Until you get your check next week!"
Blaine picked up one of the chess pieces on a board two of his teammates were playing on and used it to knock down the king.
"You triflin', good-for-nothin' type of brother
Silly me, why haven't I found another?
A baller, when times get hard, I need someone to help me out
Instead o' a scrub like you who don't know what a man's about!"

The smile stayed bright on Gabriella's face throughout the whole performance, they were really good. She like the original version of that song, so it was cool to hear their version. The brunette even found herself singing along in her head, not out loud. She saved her voice for the showers, were nobody could hear her. After all, sometimes she was a little self concious.

"So you and me are through." Blaine ended the song with his back to the other Warblers, holding his hands slightly put to the sides. He stopped moving and looked up at the ceiling, cupping his hands around his mouth, he yelled; "Hey, Regionals!" He looked back at his teammates, staggering slightly. "You just met our opening number." He grinned as he was hugged and high-fived and congratulated, he praised back quietly, the entire time, a grin fixed on his face.

The brunette started clapping, a bright smile on her face. She laughed to herself slightly, the one place where she'd never been aloud to listen to music & the one place where she actually enjoyed it more. It was a lot better than the 'focusing' tune, so they could be very proud. She stopped clapping after Blaine was done with the high five's. Though, the smile remained present.

Blaine, suddenly remembering about Gabriella, tuned to look at her. "So, what do you think?" He asked, still smiling. "You think we can win Regionals?" The Junior Warbler beamed once more.

"Definately." She replied, lifting her hand as she began twirling a peice of hair around her fingers. As she watched the group dispand a little, but not a lot into slightly smaller groups as a small amount of chatter began to fill the room.

Blaine glanced around as the group broke up before refining his attention back to the brunette. "Well, thank you." He smiled softly, also glad she hadn't mentioned the walking on her father's furniture thing.

"Any time." Gabriella saod, smiling back at him. It was pretty cool to be able to just talk to someone. Someone who wasn't a therapist, & didn't judge her. That was what she was used to now, the judgmental jerks that walked the halls of reform school. They were so irritating. Though, now she felt a little more relaxed. It certainly was a friendlier enviroment to be in, even when she knew they were probably judging her a little bit.

Blaine saw Kurt sitting alone and walked the short space. He grabbed his hand and tugged him out of his seat and across the room to Gabriella. Blaine stood behind the other boy and moved his hands to Kurt's shoulders. "Miss. Dalton, this is Kurt Hummel, our first countertenor for years. He transferred a couple weeks ago." He smiled, glancing around the room. "I would introduce the others but they seem kinda of busy." His gaze returned to Kurt and Gabriella. "And Kurt's the only one worth mentioning." He joked, winking at the two teens.

Gabriella giggled, smiling at the boy called Kurt. "It's nice to meet you Kurt." She replied, holding her hand out for him to shake. As he did, she looked back around the room as the group had disbanded more & the amount of chatter had grew. "Please though, call be Gabriella or Gabrielle. I hate being called 'Miss. Dalton'" She added, refocusing on the boys in front of her.

Blaine watched Kurt smile and shake Gabriella's hand. And..was that a curtsey? No, that would be weird, right? "Pleasure to meet you." Kurt replied confidently. Blaine nodded with a small smile. "Of course, sorry." He replied, once again, burying his hands in his pockets. "So, Gabriella, did you enjoy our performance?" Kurt asked and Blaine almost laughed, for he had only asked that question a few minutes ago.

"It was very good, best music I've heard in a while." She replied, giggling a little. Since, she had just been asked that question. Though, she wouldn't be rude. After all, first impressions count, right? It would be such a waste if those 2 years in that hell hole hadn't helped her at all. So, she would be polite, use what she had learnt around everyone that wasn't her father.

Blaine smiled at Kurt's obvious obliviousness to the fact he had just repeated the question not five minutes after it was first spoken. "So will you be at the Regionals competition?" Blaine grinned, realising that the amount he was smiling could have been seen as flirting, except he was gay. Except not everyone knew that.

(OOC: I just had this really weird(but funny) like daydream about G giving B her number and he'd be like aaaaawwwwkwwwwaaaaarrrrrrddddd xD)

Gabriella smiled back at them "Yeah, I will." She replied, happily. Anything for music, she'd sneak out if her dad didn't let her go. Two years of hell, must have earned her the right to be able to go were ever she wanted. Plus, she was sixteen now. She could drive & everything, so it didn't really matter what Richard thought.
